Jessica- The case study on the New York Post

The New York Post- TSUNAMI MEMORIALS
In tiny little article basically says that on December 26, 2004, there was a giant wave along the Indian Ocean shore that left 230,000 people killed or missing. The Thailand Buddhist priests are having a ceremony where they will remember the people who were lost during this horrible event.
1) The audience seems to be the reader who is drawn to world events and wants to know about the fact of what happening in their everyday life worldwide.

2) There is no clear villain mentioned in this very brief article. The only thing imaginable that can be characterized as the villain is Mother Nature as this disastrous event wipes out many lives and still can claim more lives as people are left in poverty which is a difficult task to survive.

3) The closest things to heroes are the Buddhist monks from the looks of this story. They are holding a ceremony to remember the many people who died three years ago.

4) There are many big differences that you can make-out from your readings of The New York Post compared to the New York Times. The New York Times gives their stories in full context and detail and in an understandable and approachable manner while the New York Post writes a few sentences which they claim to be an article and just leave you in the mix as they give you no real information or detail at all. There is no real information being presented by the New York Post whereas the New York Times gives you the entire story with the before and after sequence and explain everything with great facts and elements that will grab the reader to know the whole background information.
